Symposium
Contribution
The paper is focused on the problem of the theory of developmental learning and teaching. According to famous Vygotsky’s ZPD concept, learning should go ahead development, learning should be the source of development. Yet, cognitive development is only one of the aspects of cultural development of the child. Learning limited on development of the cognitive structures only cannot serve as relevant mean for the development of the personality of the child. Paper will show some theoretical aspects of the problem of the relations between learning and cultural development and will represent some experimental results and practical examples taken from the “We are earthlings” educational program which is developed during last 20 years in different countries and cultural settings.
