While much has been written about the ‘Generation Y’ debate in western countries, little is known about countries in other contexts. With the largest internet users in the world, ‘Generation Y’ (also called ‘post 80’s’ and ‘post 90’s’) in China has become an increasingly popular discourse in recent years. Growing up in the age of China’s economic boom and technology development, there are approximately 375 million young people in China born in between 1980 and 1999. However, little empirical study has yet been conducted on this generation of young people and their experience with technologies in China.
