16 SES 05 A, Innovative Teaching and Learning with Technology: Results of a Multinational Study
Symposium
Contribution
The 2009-2011 Russian Federal State Educational Standard requires implementing and leveraging technologies based on the ideas of developing learning (Vygotski & others). Analysis of the requirements of the new Educational Standard shows that they correspond closely to the main concepts of the ITL research. So the main approaches and findings of the ITL research—particularly the methods of analysis of classroom artifacts—may turn to be very effective in transforming traditional teaching-leaning practice. This paper presents the ways in which the main findings of the ITL Research are used in Russia to improve teaching-learning practices to achieve new educational outcomes. We describe some results of the analysis of classroom observations and classroom artifacts collected from a sample of “innovative” schools. The paper contains a discussion of the ways to construct “ICT supporting” models of classroom learning activities in Russia.
