11 SES 12 A, Is Quality of Educational Institution Influenced by Educational Leadership? I
Symposium, Part 1
Contribution
Purpose of this research is to determine how educational leadership could promote educational institution’s quality. Information is collected on: importance and evidence of educational leadership’s dimensions; components of the quality of an educational institution; relevance of educational leadership to an educational institution’s quality. The need of leadership in today’s education is mentioned in recent publications (Pont, Nusche & Moorman, H., 2008, Improving School leadership, Volume 2: Practice and Policy.). The quality of an educational institution is the product of the excellence obtained in some components of such institution. To this effect, it has been considered that in every institution there are quality “identifiers” and “predictors”. As basic approach of the research is an eclectic or mixed one, techniques and instruments to collect empirical data are of qualitative and quantitative type. Empirical data presented at the Conference, and referred to the situation in Spain are those obtained from questionnaires and from some interviews made to heads and directing members of some educational institutions.
