Session Information
17 SES 13, Knowledge in Education: Circulations, Transformations, Implementations in a Transnational Perspective Part 2
Symposium
Contribution
As shown in various studies, the New Education Fellowship (NEF) is an international network in which circulate extensive discourse on educational theories and practices. Among its members are a lot of women who are teachers, educators, school principals or directors. Most of them write in the NEF journals to share their experiences, thoughts and pedagogical discoveries. Some do take responsibilities in the NEF, as representative of their country, as member of the international committee or as editor of a journal. Through their actions, these women contribute to the dissemination and circulation of knowledge in education. However, little attention has been paid to their life and their professional course. This contribution proposes to list the women who write in the New Education Fellowship journals, to identify their profile and to analyze the types of writing they publish. Through a prosopographical study, we aim to identify the characteristics of those women (training, professional occupation, editorial activity, social relations, networks) in order to understand what role they play in the NEF in relation with other members.
