On the basis of the new educational paradigm, efforts are made in the process of studies not only to educate versatile spacialists, but also to train people who would be able to find their place in the multicultural society.The aim of this article is to reveal how an innovative approach towards cooperation in the teaching/learning process coupled with the creation of an effective educational environment could stimulate students' self-reflection as well as the broadening of the possibilities of mutual intercultural understanding.Research question: Can elements of innovative cooperation be used for teaching/learning the basics of the Latin language? Aim: To evaluate the influence of the development of innovative cooperation on the effectiveness of the courses of medical terminology in Latin.Objectives:1. To discuss the elements of the pedagogical strategy of innovative cooperation; 2. To evaluate the tendencies of changes in studets' attitudes towards learning; 3. To plan the strategies for further development of the new educational environment;Conceptual or theoretical framework: Studies on the innovative educational environment favorable for students' self-reflection: Herman, Mandel, 2004; Klimoviene, Statkeviciene, 2006; Maskell, Robinson, 2002; Kirikova, 2006, MacFarlane, 2000; Ramsden, 2000, etc. The philosophical theory of humanism under which every member of the society can develop as a harmonious, integral, and talented personality that creatively and knowingly builds his or her own material, spiritual, and social world. Concepts of the European dimensions of education and the documents of the European Council.The positivist approach, according to which teaching/learning is a conscious process of cognition; the philosophy of an environment created by the learning community of teachers and students, empowering for cooperative learning Methods of research: the analysis of literature, monitoring of opinions, and non-standardized observation through participation, applied in the process of the study based on the methodology of qualitative studies . Based on the new educational paradigm, the innovative cooperation methods allow for the development of new effective educational environments and skills in intellectual activity, and presupposes interpersonal tolerance and common cultural sophistication.1.
