The research behind this paper links with the interest shown by the educational community in order to know more about what kind of relationship exists between family and school and what are the implications of existing relationships for children's education. For that reason, I have collected the experience teachers, families and students through interviews and observations. The analysis of these data is bringing me to describe their thoughts on what is happening between those two institutions: family and school. This work is part of my doctoral thesis. The study has followed three phases so far. First, I have curried out a deep bibliographic research about this issue in order to know is know about what is known about the relationships established between school and family (Gómez-Granell, García, M, Ripol-Millet and Panchón, 2004; Kñallinsky,1999; Rodrigo & Palacios, 1998; Solé, 1996). Second, I am recovering the experience and the voice of a good number of educational actors (teacher staff, non academic staff, families and students) throughout field work in three different Primary schools, which are singularly characterised (Martínez, 2005). Besides, I'm trying to portray how those people experienced and understand the kind of relationship being constructed in their school in order to be able to discuss its implication for children's education. Finally, I try to set up possible scenarios for school and family connections by taking into account the experience, background, needs, doubts and proposals of all those participating in this research. The whole research project is based on shared work, dialogue, active hearing, trust and mutual participation. In the educational research are participing differents systems that these are influying physical, symbolic and emotional components interact (Sancho, 2005). The knowledge that emerges is the result of the necessity of exploring a differents research methodologies that are very important in research process, specially for the reseacher and the all community. In this research I have made long interviews, observation and analysis of official documents about "why family and school are developing the kind of relationships they currently have", because I have chosen three Primary schools as study of cases. The first school is more tradicional than the others; the second inserts the families like essential element of the education. This is an important factor in the relationship between family and school. Finally, the last school is the new creation (only 3 years of existence), parents and teachers are working together for an education of quality. The focus for discussion in the context of this conference will be: the quality in research necessarily leads to consider the quality of the relationship between family and schools. Specifically, I want will explore the following issues:o Why family and school are developing the kind of relationships they currently have. o What is the role of time and space in this relationships. 1.
