27 SES 08 C, Multivocal Analyses of a Teaching Unit: "When Dancing is Taught in English" in Primary School (Part 1)
Symposium: to be continued in 27 SES 09C
Contribution
The aim for our contribution is to describe the content of learning in the different groups from a variation theory perspective through phenomenographic analysis. The point of departure for our analysis would be the intended object of learning (i.e. the word/phrase that is to be expressed in movements) which we consider as an open and dynamic triadic transaction between knowers-knowings-knowns. We will focus on how as well as what objects of learning (the lived objects of learning) are constituted in the different groups. Our intention is to find out what aspects of the object of learning that are discerned and expressed within as well as between the different groups. The phenomenographic analysis will be carried out on bodily expressions as well as classroom talk and we will analyze how the object of learning is constituted through joint attention to certain aspects. We will also analyze how the teacher interacts with the formation of the object of learning in each group.
