Contribution
The German presentation provides insights into teachers’ attitude and believes about IBL, in particular in terms of gender differences and also in terms of differences between Mathematics and Science teachers’ beliefs. The data from the PRIMAS baseline study are supplemented with selected studies of different contexts in science education (Cords, Fischer, Euler, & Prasad, 2012), which provide information on teachers’ beliefs concerning the role of IBL in different contexts of science. Further, a link between teachers’ behaviors and students’ views is established. The results of all three studies provide insights from a German context on the potential and the limitations of IBL on a broader scale.
