Title
Special Call for Long Papers
Abstract
The convenors of Network 13 Philosophy of Education are pleased to announce a special call for long papers (4,000–6,000 words) for the 2026 European Conference on Educational Research (ECER), to be held in Tampere, Finland. This year accepted long papers will be considered for publication in the Nordic journal SPEKI, Nordic Philosophy of EducationReview, with Marie Hållander and Elisabet Langmann as guest editors.
The Call
We invite long paper submissions that engage philosophically with the theme of ECER 2026 conference on Knowing and Acting: The changing conditions and potentials of education research. Within the broader scope of the conference, we especially welcome papers that critically explore how educational practices and discourses construct temporal orientations - such as development, urgency, progress, or nostalgia - and how these temporal framings shape ethical and educational responsibilities toward future generations, planetary sustainability, and/or democratic life.
Long papers engaging with the theme of the conference will be eligible to be considered for publication in SPEKI. Nordic Philosophy of Education Review. Full information about the conference and the theme can be found here: https://eera-ecer.de/conferences/ecer-2026-tampere
