Special call LONG PAPERS for the Philosophy of Education Network at the 2025 Belgrade ECER conference (9-12 September 2025)
As of this academic year we have started a new initiative to promote the submission of long papers to Network 13 (Philosophy of Education) at the European Conference on Educational Research (ECER). Although we still welcome short papers, symposia and workshops, the convenors of Network 13 would like to encourage colleagues to submit long papers (4000 up to 6000 words) which adopt a philosophical approach to the ECER 2025 theme «Charting the Way Forward: Education, Research, Potentials and Perspectives» (full information to be found here: https://eera-ecer.de/conferences/ecer-2025-belgrade/theme-charting-the-way-forward-education-research-potentials-and-perspectives).
Accepted long papers at ECER 2025 will be considered for publication in a peer-reviewed journal. A Special Issue has been secured with the journal Ethics and Education (to be published in 2026) and a selection of papers will be chosen to feature in it. We encourage prospective authors to consult the ‘Instructions for Authors’ section on the Ethics and Education website: https://www.tandfonline.com/action/authorSubmission?show=instructions&journalCode=ceae20
Long paper proposals should be submitted using the regular conference management tool provided by EERA, which will be open between December 1st, 2024, and January 31st, 2025. Proposals will be subject to the regular review process conducted by convenors of Network 13. For accepted long papers to be considered for publication it is expected that the author(s) will present in person at ECER 2025. Accepted long papers have a guaranteed 45 minute slot at the conference (rather than the 30 minute slot for short paper presentations).
