ERC Informal Lunch Break Events

ERC 2026 will host two Informal Lunch Break Events.

• "Getting to Know EERA and Making the Most of the Emerging Researchers' Conference and ECER" on Monday, 17 August 
• "Lunch Break with Local Academics" on Tuesday, 18 August

You are warmly invited to attend this informal lunch session with experienced academics and the ERG co-convenors. We will help you chart your way through the conference program, understand the structure of EERA and how you can participate in the activities. It will be also a wonderful opportunity to connect with fellow ‘emerging’ researchers.

During the event, you will have the opportunity to explore some of the themes below and network with other members of EERA teams at your table in order to learn more about ERG activities and EERA networks. Informal discussions with the experienced academics and co-convenors will ensure crucial insights.

Networks, Networking and Development Opportunities
Connect with experts in your field by identifying your ideal network affiliation and attending their programs. Find more about opportunities and strategies to build your network during the conference and beyond.

ERG co-convenors
Meet the Emerging Researchers’ Group co-conveneors who will share their experiences as Early Career Researchers and provide helpful tips tomake the most out of the conference experience. Find out more about opportunities related to peer reviewing, best paper award, and becoming a co-convenor.

Converting your conference paper into a publication
Explore the unique opportunities offered to participants at the Emerging Researchers’ Conference to maximize your publication success. Take advantage of the various feedback options offered by the conference, such as during and after your conference presentation.

The Local Organising Committee and the Convenors of the Emerging Researchers' Group are delighted to inform you about this unique opportunity as part of the programme that will take place during ERC lunch breaks.

The “Lunch Break with Local Academics” promises to be an engaging opportunity for participants. About 50 emerging researchers who pre-register will have the unique chance to discuss and exchange ideas around a focused topic with local academics. This will be the perfect way for participants to share a meal and to get to know, meet, connect and network both with and their peers and local academics, sharing the latest ground-breaking insights on topics of their interest.

“Lunch Break with Local Academics” is an attractive informal opportunity for emerging researchers to socialise and to take part in the scientific community. The event is intended to give an informal opportunity in a designated location for networking, creating global connections and knowledge exchange during lunch time.
