Christian Ydesen is Chair of History of Education and Education Policy Analysis at the University of Zürich’s Department of Education and an Honorary Research Fellow at the University of Oxford. He has been a visiting researcher at Edinburgh (2008‑09, 2016), Birmingham (2013), Oxford (2019) and Milan (2021, 2024). His work examines international organisations, global education governance, testing, assessment, accountability and diversity from historical, comparative and international angles. He has authored numerous book chapters and journal articles, and since 2025 serves as Co‑Editor‑in‑Chief of the European Educational Research Journal.
