The ERC Social Event - Civic Reception Courtesy of The Rt Hon The Lord Provost Councillor Jacqueline McLaren - is a chance for the emerging researchers to enjoy some hospitality provided by the Lord Provost of Glasgow and EERA in the beautiful and majestic surroundings of the City Chambers. The City Chambers were built in the late 19th century and are situated in George Square in the centre of the city. There will be alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks and some delicious canapés. The delegates will be formally welcomed to the city by Bailie Hussain representing the Lord Provost and the response will be delivered by Dr Saneeya Qureshi. The city chambers can be easily and quickly accessed by subway (Buchanan Street) or train (Queen street) or by a pleasant walk of approximately thirty minutes from the University of Glasgow.
