Contribution
This paper, based on 14 case studies of schools situated in the six local urban spaces already mentioned, will analyse more in details the internal logics of actions of the schools and show how there are conditioned by the interaction between internal (school narrative identity, principal strategy, school intake, micropolitics,) and external factors (position of the school in the local market, policy interventions). First, we will show that there are some convergencies across the six local areas. Second, we will focus on the various conditions which could affect these school's logics of action. We will show that major conditions are the "school mix" related to the position of the school but also the internal dynamic equilibrium. We will also focus on the particular role of the principal. In conclusion, implications of these results for reproduction of inequalities will be stressed.
