By air:
Chemnitz can be easily reached by train or by car from the international airports “Leipzig-Halle
(LEJ)” and “Dresden (DRS)”.
From either airport, there are quick connections to the main stations of the nearest cities. From
there, you can take a direct train to Chemnitz Main Station (Chemnitz Hbf).
From Leipzig-Halle airport (LEJ)
- By train: Leipzig/Halle Flughafen – Leipzig Hbf – Chemnitz Hbf (approx. 1h 35min)
- By car: via Markranstädt – A38 – A72 (approx. 1h 10min)
From Dresden airport (DRS)
- By train: Dresden Flughafen – Dresden Hbf – Chemnitz Hbf (approx. 1h 35min)
- By car: via motorway A4 (approx. 1h)
It is also possible to fly to the Berlin Airport (BER) and take the train to Chemnitz from there (approx. 2 h 45 mintues).
By train
Chemnitz can be easily reached by train from all directions (shuttle train once an hour from
Leipzig or Dresden).
