The objective of this final presentation is to summarise the reviews of the structural changes in education and health care since the 1960's in each partner country and their effects with a focus on restructuring measures from the 1980s and onwards with special attention to professional actors (recruitment, competence, authority etc) and their positions and the descriptions and analyses of the professional education and training of teachers and nurses with a special focus on changes in professional knowledge. The conceived relations between restructuring of education and health and professional education and training will also be considered and we will be looking for evidence of any general tendencies across the included countries regarding transitions in the work life organisation of education and health, government texts on the restructuring of the public sector and welfare provision and the education and training of teachers and nurses related to notions of tasks and professional knowledge. The implications of changes and patterns noted for a knowledge society will also be considered.
