Various social factors influence modern world societies: decrement of traditional family, spread of violence, persistent social changes (e.g., migration, social differentiation), increasing morbidity with Aids as well as the spread of different dependences among the young people, etc. Value change, economic tension complement the factors in the countries that underwent transition period. The above-mentioned factors also assert in the environment of school causing various socio-educational problems. The derangement of pupils' behaviour is the most relevant problems emphasised by foreign researchers, namely: manifestation of aggressive or even delinquent behaviour at school, absences from school, vandalism. American scientists identified that pupils, who face problems of behaviour, make from 5 to 15 percent of school population, the pupils who distinguish in constant and especially problematic behaviour make 3-5 percent. 7 percent of pupils in the USA avoid attending school because they are afraid of undergoing violence. The results of the research carried out in Scotland show that verbal aggression makes 66 percent of aggression cases at school, physical aggression directed towards other pupils - 50 percent. Teacher's work loses its prestige in schools of Germany and Switzerland because social tension at school, which is caused due to big number of immigrants and cultural conflicts, becomes a serious problem for teachers as well as the entire school community. The number of pupils not attending school as well as delinquency cases increased in Lithuania in the last decade. In this context the problem of pupils' behaviour control arises: how to guarantee the balance between pupils' rights and duties as well as teachers' commitments and efforts in creating safe and effective environment in school's environment? In this case the control of behaviour is understood as the process, during which the controlled or limited system of actions of undesirable behaviour is used. The most important objective of behaviour control - is to prevent the spread of undesirable behaviour. The paper analyses theoretical and practical aspects of behaviour control at school: reasons of undesirable behaviour at school are disclosed, strategies of behaviour control are analysed referring to the results of the empirical quantitative research carried out in Lithuania, teachers' and pupils' opinion on the problems of behaviour control and their solution at school is presented.
