Spanish adolescents use the Internet in their daily lives, in different contexts (home, school, friends' home, cyber café, libraries) and for diverse uses (information, communication, entertainment and creativity); and in doing so, they are accessing and managing information, constructing their knowledge and creating and recreating their own personalities and identities. In this paper, we highlight the relationship between adolescents' learning, knowledge and identity, in the frame of Information Society. We are questioning if the way in which a particular adolescent connects to the Internet and uses it (to be informed, to know about any theme or subject, to communicate with his/her friends and to play with them and with videogames), could be influenced by parents and teachers' educative styles. In this sense, another question arises: could a very strict and controlled education encourage a "depending on others" (friends, parents or teachers) attitude to access and use the Internet? Would not this posture be contradictory with autonomy, independence, critical and reflexive spirit values, nowadays encouraged by the Information Society?
