Global social, economical and cultural changes directly influence the society. Professional demand and stress of specialists in socioeducational field can influence the process of training the young generation. As the activity of these specialists is related to different groups of the society, high demands are raised for them. Social educators have to be specialists with high competence, which determines the demand for permanent renewal and perfection. This paper discusses the following aspects: policy issues related to socioeducational professions, aspects of professional process, features of practice determining professional stress; the research initiated by Europe's ISAJH social funds and carried out in Belgium, the results of which are similar to the results of research carried out in Lithuania. The policy issues related to the specialists of socioeducational professions, aspects of professional development, professional tiredness determined by the policy implementation. These aspects are analyzed on theoretical and empirical level. Empirically, the level of professional competence practice organizing of specialists of socioeducational professions remit is opened, for interaction with professional nature and rise of negative stress. Methods of research: analysis of research literature and formal interview; Analysis of research literature was used discussing concepts of practice points specialists of socioeducational professions and content conception. A formal interview was carried out to see the attitude of working Lithuania's social educators, estimate to professional practice, its' activity, particularity and problems; 118 Lithuanian social educators working in social training offices have been interviewed. The content analysis (using statistical tools) of respondents' professional practice, specificity, relative levels of competence was performed to estimate particular problems of professional development, its' impact on the levels of specialists' competence. The paper will analyze the causes of professional tiredness, spiritual and physical problems influencing professional practice. What causes professional stress in socioeducational work? How stress influences the levels of competence? What are the reasons for this? The paper is an attempt to answer these questions. Its first part will emphasize that professional development of specialists of socioeducational professions is directly influenced by rising needs of the society, rational sociocultural medium, a new attitude to professional practice and non-professional environment. he second part of the paper is meant for highlighting the interrelationship between specialists' competence in socioeducational field and professional stress; the third part of the paper argues that competent specialists are affected by stress in professional situations because they deeply analyze the reasons of problems and look for ways of solving the problems.
