The objectives of the IRN-VET network for the period 2014-2016 are the following: 1) To prepare at least two events or contributions (symposia or keynote speeches) in the context of the WERA main conferences. 2) To establish a coherent set of IRN-VET communication channels by developing shared group blog facilities, conference calendars and mailing list services (on the basis of existing services of the interested research communities). 3) To set up at least three ‘task forces’ to work with International mapping of VET in research based on the prior work of Wageningen University and with selected focal themes 4) To organise at least three IRN-VET focal meetings/symposia under the auspices of ‘regional’ or thematic conferences (e.g. ECER, AERA, INAP-net) based on the work outlined above and in the subsequent work plan; 5) To explore the possibility to co-organise specific events for emerging researchers in collaboration with the interested ‘regional’ associations or thematic networks (see below). The mapping initiative (based on the International VET research review) and the work of the thematic ‘task forces’ (envisaged in the initial work plan) should lead to research articles and research publications.
