Contribution
School leaders are considered as one of the key factors of successful schools. But how can appropriate candidates be found? We lack opportunities for teachers and school leaders to find out whether they fit to the personal demands of the modern school leadership role. In other fields of career development, self assessments based on psychometric tests have been shown to be helpful. Combining research from the educational field as well as from the economic sector, the project aims at providing a tool
- serving as a a potential analysis for school leadership in terms of a feedback instrument for the individuals using it (e.g. teachers interested in school leadership positions), and
- serving as a research instrument for the research on psychometric measures and on school leadership. The article will address the tool’s development, findings on its psychometric measures, and its usefulness based on the pilot study in 2007.
