Contribution
Nine elements for the sustainability of an organization
The anthropological model of motivation (Pérez López, 1991, 1993; Argandoña, 2005; Ariño, 1997; Chinchilla et al., 2001; Cardona & Rey, 2008; Ferreiro & Alcázar, 2005; Álvarez de Moon, 2009) is based on the consequences produced from the process of decision-making in a human context. This model demonstrates three levels of related and independent values: a) extrinsic: reactions of the environment to the action of the decision-maker; b) intrinsic: satisfaction linked to the execution of the action and changes that might occur in the operational skills of the decision-maker; and c) transcendent: consequences that the execution of the free action has on a person or people who are different from the decision-maker.
The three types of motives generate three different paradigms in organizations depending on which motive is prioritized: a) mechanistic, b) psychosocial c) anthropological / ethical.
The sustainability of an organization in the long run requires to reach at least a minimum level of effectiveness and the unity among the members known as mutual trust and interdependence.
