Contribution

My thesis examines the economic and social milieu of the higher level vocational training in the Hungarian higher education system and demonstrates its related theoretical framework. In Hungary the beginning of the VET provided within the accredited school system can be dated to the mid-1990s. These years were characterized by an increased demand and expectation to a type of training programme which, as opposed to the previous post-secondary programmes, better meets the expectation of the labour market. The introduction of the Bologna System in 2006 was considered to be a milestone event in the development of the two-year training system. The system placed the training on new foundations and opened up new opportunities for those who wanted to participate in advanced vocational programmes. To get a better understanding of the development of the new system my research is mainly based on the European situation.

Besides the above mentioned topics I have also studied significant academic works produced in the past 10-12 years, among others are (Hrubos, 2002), (Fehérvári, 2009), Gurbán (2009), Farkas É. (2009), Farkas P. (2009), Karsai (2011).

Method

My poster focuses on the history and development of the last 12 years of the VET provided within the accredited school system and higher level vocational training at the University of Debrecen. I carry out a secondary analysis on the basis of statistics of the university and felvi.hu.

Expected Outcomes

Generally, it can be stated that the advanced vocational programme structure of the university offers opportunities for students predominantly in the field of economics and agriculture. The popularity of this training is indicated by the high number of students who in the past few years chose these specific programmes as well. Based on the VET provided within the accredited school system, higher level vocational training programmes were successful and in the case of the remaining last few classes they are still going on with success at the University of Debrecen. In September 2013, began training courses in higher education similar to the previous system of a large number of departures and the training range is expanded, more colourful. Up to mention the recent economic, agricultural and social training, all of which have attracted students. However, if the application data of the previous years are compared with data from previous years, you can see that some faculty sites, such as Faculty of Applied Economics and Rural Development elevation, yet other cases, say, the Faculty of Childcare and Adult Education was a decline. The reasons may vary, but it is the name of the training, and curriculum change of seasons and the changes in the names of your search. My opinion, in the future will continue to develop and grow in the range of training at the University of Debrecen and is expected to grow to train the number of questions as well.
