13 SES 07 A, Education in Times of a Pandemic Crisis: Towards an Adaptation or a Refoundation?
Symposium
Contribution
Since the end of 2019, the COVID-19 pandemic has had profound impacts and risks for a large part of the world's population, corroborating the expansion of social control mechanisms in the face of the effects of virus contamination. Confinement and social isolation were the measures most recommended by health agencies and adhered to by government agencies when they adopted a policy to control the epidemic. Although there are no restrictions on who the virus infects, according to the epidemiological bulletin of the city of Belo Horizonte, black, poor and peripheral people are the largest portion of victims of the disease. To the detriment of the portion of youth even more vulnerable in these conditions, the Desembola na Ideia project, linked to the Youth Observatory of the Faculty of Education / UFMG, created an alternative to assist these young people in an emergency context. The psychosocial reception and art-education workshops by the team of artists and social educators started to be carried out by remote and virtual means, with groups on an instant messaging platform and telephone calls. The present work aims to reflect how the effect of policies on bodies posed by the pandemic crisis has an effect on adolescents linked to Desembola na Ideia. We will also analyze the modes of subjectivity that were raised in the dialogues from the experience of attention and intervention in remote and virtual groups with young people in this period. In addition, we ask ourselves what questions and reflections can be learned from the experience of remote attention to young people during this period. As a methodology, we will use the analysis of vignettes of the meeting groups based on the speech fragments collected in the virtual groups, during the remote activities developed between March and June 2020. The vignettes are small passages or passages, without naming or with use fictitious names of the subjects involved in the speeches or actions, which serve to illustrate the different issues raised by the practice developed by the project team. In addition, we categorized the fragments collected from the virtual groups, and at the same time, we carried out a bibliographic survey based on Michel Foucault and Achille Mbembe in order to support the discussions and theoretical elaborations.
