Contribution
The Waldorf school as one of the biggest forms of alternative school types in Austria has stretched whole over the world since the foundation 1919 in Germany. In spite of that the empirical results on that school population are rare.
Already since PISA 2000 all Austrian Waldorf Schools could already wined for a regularly participation on that international student assessment. Therefore all 15-/16-year old Waldorf students in Austria have been assessed with the PISA-instruments (test booklets and questionnaires) in the same standardize way as in PISA required.
First general analysis on the data has shown that the Waldorf population is characterized by a significant higher socioeconomic status (measured by the occupation of the parents). Further there are much more girls in Waldorf Schools as in municipal schools.
On the one hand the question of this contribution belongs to the methods which guarantee an accurate faire comparison between Waldorf School students and students of municipal schools. Here the methods of the statistical matching for the finding of statistical twins will use and discussed.
On the other hand some of the data will be analyzed to show if there are significant differences between the Waldorf students in comparison with the municipal students according to their performances and motivational characteristics.
