Session Information
20 SES 01, Developing Network 20
Research Workshop
Contribution
"In order to open up our experience to our existential possibilities as persons, to possibilities of many kinds, we must extend and deepen, and we must further develop our understanding of what it means to be brothers and sisters in a great (inter)national community" (Greene 1993 p 351)
Maxine Green suggests that in order to develop an international community we must open ourselves up to the ways in which our individual, and nationally located research interconnect. These new inter and intra connections open up new possibilities for interpretations of our own work and for international collaborations. The opening session of Network 20 has come to be known as session zero. This signals the importance that the network places on initial collaboration between those who will present to the conference within the network. This creative and collaborative active workshop will enable all participants to begin to build a community of researchers which we hope will build during and after the conference. The session will allow participants to explore the ethos and expectations of network 20, to reinterpret and redefine ‘research in innovative, intercultural learning environments’ and to share interests.
