Annual Report 2014, Porto
As usual NW10 had a busy conference with the following numbers:
Submissions: 189 (20% rejection rate)
Accepted papers: 151
Withdrawals: 24
Session slots used: 56
Program committee: 38 persons
The attendance at sessions was good but the usual problem arose of small or non-existent audiences for early, late and Friday afternoon slots, including symposia. Chairing was less of a problem this year due to having new volunteers to chair. We had a successful plenary session for the first slot on Tuesday, this was favourably received, but we will hold it on the second day (Wednesday) in 2015 to increase attendance, although we had around 45 anyway.
We had joint sessions with NW 11, this was not very well attended. As usual, joint sessions were hard to organise, even with the help of the office.
