Annual Report 2026, Tampere

Network 10 continued to strengthen its position as one of the largest and most active EERA networks, with approximately 250 contributions represented at ECER 2026. Throughout the year, the network expanded its activities beyond the annual conference by offering opportunities for professional learning, networking, and scholarly exchange.

In May, the network hosted Eline Vanassche's webinar, "Reclaiming Teacher Education: A Critical Analysis of a Radical Suggestion," as well as ML White's writing retreat. The network also circulated invitations to contribute papers to a special issue on mentoring and shared open-access teaching materials on diversity and equity in teacher education. These initiatives contributed to maintaining an active research community between conferences.

A major highlight of ECER 2026 was the successful "Meet and Greet" dinner on Monday evening, which attracted around 40 participants and created valuable opportunities for informal networking among colleagues. Given the positive feedback, the network hopes to establish this event as an ongoing NW10 tradition.

Another highlight was the Network 10 business meeting, where participants engaged in discussions on key challenges and opportunities in teacher education. Themes included teacher shortages, teacher motivation and professional identity, artificial intelligence and educational technology, and possibilities for collaboration across EERA networks. The active participation and rich exchanges demonstrated the vitality and engagement of the network's members and generated several concrete ideas for future activities and collaborations.

Each network holds a Network Meeting during ECER and invites interested researchers to join. We have collected the network meeting minutes.
