Annual Report
ECER 2014 was successful. The Network 29 is a relatively new network within ECER. This is important as the network is constructing its audience in a slow but strong way. In this 2nd year of participation, the number of sessions filled the program slots, with some parallel sessions and symposia. The sessions were attended, in general, by a fixed group of 20 persons, with some new comers, particularly PhD students. The sessions were essentially focused on empirical research on arts education, from visual arts to music, theatre and performance in different contexts (schools, museums, communities) and the symposia were related among them, presenting and discussing an European project (Creative Connections) that involved the different participants. The 3 Symposia were very much attended and it is a format to be developed in the future. Some sessions also focused arts-based methodologies in education and artistic research and, for the 2nd year, we had a research workshop in dance and performance in which the body was explored as a way of constructing new knowledge and new ways of knowing. This format is something to be fostered in next editions.
