Annual Report 2013, Istanbul
Network 3 'Curriculum Innovation' has been able to put together an interesting ECER2013 programme. Next to several well-attended symposia and paper sessions, the network had two very successful book launches:
- Reinventing the curriculum: New Trends in Curriculum Policy and Practice (edited by Mark Priestley and Gert Biesta; Published by Bloomsbury)
- Educational design research: Introduction and illustrative cases (edited by Tjeerd Plomp & Nienke Nieveen; Published by SLO; available for free at www.international.slo.nl/edr)
Also for the future, symposia will be very much welcomed . These symposia have proven to be an effective manner to create high quality sessions. Moreover, EERA is stimulating the creation of joint sessions with other networks to increase coherence. Network 3 will work on that and when relevant will stimulate it.
In November 2013 the seasonschool 'Educational design research' was organized (together with network 24) at the University of Jaén, Spain. The season school aimed at introducing curricular design research/DBR and at having hands-on experience connected to the work of the 45 participants.
