The network had a special call on the intersectional perspective on gender inequalities in education: 'Genders and Sexualities in Diverse Education Systems and Societies'. The response of researchers to the call was very positive, which resulted in an increased number of contributions, including contributions from young researchers. The Network's sessions and symposia highlighted the importance of an intersectional approach to exploring the complexity of intersectional inequalities in today's gendered education systems and societies across Europe and beyond.
In general, the participants were pleased with the growing number of papers, the diversity of formats and the increasing quality of the Network’s sessions.
The joint session with NW29, Research on Art Education, was very successful and well received with a large number of participants interested in the topic. Once again, it was confirmed that the joint sessions are an effective format for the collaboration of researchers from different disciplines, which enables a more complete coverage of gender issues and further cooperation.
Carol Taylor, who was nominated by the Network as a keynote speaker, gave a successful and well-attended speech.
Activities on the development of the proposal for a Special Issue of the EERA Journal (EERJ) „Intersectional approaches to educational research through gender lens” were reported and discussed. A collection on Intersectionality is being developed and will be sent to EERJ by the end of October. It will be Edited by Victoria Showumni, Andrea Abbas and Branislava Baranović. 13 abstracts have been sent and are currently in the review process.
