The network members perceived #ECER2019 as inspiring with rich exchange, especially within the discourse of and towards the theme “risk”. The conference organisers’ focus on social media, respect, and privacy, including the overall approach to sustainability was well acknowledged. Development opportunities have been brought forward in respect to supporting technology for presentations (media, rooms, assistance staff), and minor issues in respect to session organisation. One of the highlights was the successful organisation of five joint sessions between the four networks 2. VETNET, 6. Open Learning: Media, Environments and Cultures, 12. LisNet and 30. Environmental and Sustainability Education Research (c.f. https://eera-ecer.de/news/open-science-in-the-european-educational-sciences-landscape-spark-the-discussion/) on “Open Science in the European Educational Sciences Landscape”. This newly called initiative “Sustainable Publishing” sparked rich, and contradictory discussions.
