The Network meeting during ECER 2015 in Budapest took place on September 10th. 26 members attended the meeting: Bereczki, Bettinger, Damberger, Dander, Domingo-Coscollola, Euringer, Fritze, Goncalves, Grell, Grell, Grotlüschen, Haugsbakk, Hebert, Hölterhof, Hoveid, Hug, Iske, Kivimäki, Meister, Nordkvelle, Rummler, Sancho-Gil, Semenova, Shanks, Storme, Wolf.
The link convenor reported about the latest decisions and recommendations made by the excecutive board, office and council. Especially the transparency of election and nomination procedures in the networks was discussed. Finally the following Transparency Regulations of Network 6 were adopted unanimously:
- The Link Convenor of the Network is elected at the scheduled Network Meeting at the Conference.
- The Link Convenor is elected for a period of four years. Re-Election is possible.
- The next election will take place in 2017. (Election of the current Link Convenor took place at the Conference 2013.)
- Co-Convenors are nominated on the Network Meeting.
- A young researcher should be among the group of Co-Convenors.
- Co-Convenors are nominated for a period of four years.
- Members contribute to the network in a variety of ways: being reviewers for the conference, chairs at conference-sessions and organizers of network activities in-between the conferences.
Next election of the link convenor will be in 2017. All Co-Convenors of Network 6 were nominated newly at the network meeting 2015, for a period of four years. The network decided that the group of Co-Convenors should represent the variety of members, and also that a young (female) researcher should be nominated as a Co-Convenor. Finally three Co-Convenors were nominated: Yngve Nordkvelle (Finnland), Nelson Goncalves (Portugal), Estelle Hebert (Germany, emerging researcher). At the next conference in 2016 one or two more Co-Convenors will be nominated.
Furthermore the network discussed upcoming acitivities, such as publication projects, cooperatively organised conferences and cooperative research acitivities. The european migration/refugee topic was made a subject of discussion and the initiative was appreciated. Last topic on the agenda was to share impressions and to reflect on the quality of the ongoing conference.
