Annual Report 2011, Berlin

The support of the Berlin Local Organising Committee and the EERA office was, once again, central to the success of the ECER 2011 Emerging Researchers’ conference which involved over 200 participants.  This year the Emerging Researchers’ Conference included:

  • 2 invited lectures
  • 2 invited workshops
  • Open network sessions run by other networks
  • 4 papers per parallel session
  • 9 posters (organised as interactive poster sessions within the parallel sessions)
  • 20 EERA bursaries (one of which was funded by a publisher)
  • 18 session mentors recruited from other Networks

We also had fewer “no-shows” than in previous ERG conferences but participants did express concerns regarding “overlap” between the ERG and Main conference; this has been addressed for the 2012 conference.

Each network holds a Network Meeting during ECER and invites interested researchers to join. We have collected the network meeting minutes.
