Greece and Slovenian Associations join EERA

Greek and Slovenian Association Join EERA

Two associations were welcomed as new EERA members in the EERA council meeting of June 2011.

The Hellenic Educational Society (HES) is a scholarly pedagogic association founded in 1981 and is established in Athens.  The HES serves its aims by doing research and publishing scholarly research on educational issues, translating and publishing remarkable foreign psychopedagogic work in Greek.
Welcoming the Hellenic Educational Society as an EERA member also meant welcoming a strong and long standing community of researchers:  The society celebrates the 30th anniversary in 2011 and has close to 1000 members. It organizes a biennial International Conference of varied themes, and a biennial Greek (Panhellenic) Conference on “Hellenic Pedagogic and Educational Research”. The “Educational Review”, is published twice a year by HES. The journal hosts peer reviewed scholarly papers by Greek and foreign authors in Greek but also in English, French, Italian and German.

The Slovenian Educational Research Association (SLODRE) is a voluntary, independent, non-profit association which deals with scientific and research activities in the field of education. It was established in May 2011. SLODRE aims to connect Slovenian researchers in the broader field of educational research and to facilitate their operation in the European and international space. With welcoming SLODRE as an EERA member long lost formal relations between EERA and Slovenian researcher have been re-established, as a Slovenian research centre had been an EERA member in early days of EERA.
Full membership will start with 2012.
