PhD Applicants Sought for the Hong Kong Institute of Education (HKIEd)

The Hong Kong Institute of Education (HKIEd), has asked EERA to recommend one or two outstanding young researchers or academics to apply for a PhD scholarship offered by the Institute. The academic year will commence in autumn this year.

The package includes HK$165,600 (~US$21,300) per annum for three years, additional financial support for international conferences and research- related expenses, as well as on campus accommodation. The research areas of the institute encompass a wide array of Education and other complementary disciplines such as Humanities, Social Sciences, Creative Arts and Language Education. HKIEd has three academic faculties, 13 departments, and five Institute-level Research & Development Centers, all dedicated to extending and strengthening key discipline areas, and all of which are overseen by Professors who are experienced in supervising PhD students. The Institute has requested recommended candidates with the following qualities:

  • Good English skills
  • Bachelor and Master Degrees from recognized Institutions with exceptional academic records
  • A track record of research experience (preferably those who have been involved in research projects with outputs preferably in international peer-reviewed journals)
  • Committed to returning to their home country upon graduation.
