EU funding of Education Research (EERQI information Session)

EERQI information session including information on EU funding

EERA’s big international research project “European Educational Research Quality Indicators (EERQI)” – funded in the 7th Framework Program of the European Union – has developed further and will present its interim results at the ECER 2009.  The Information Session will also welcome contributions for Manuela Alfé and Louisa Anastopoulou will speak about Education Research in the 7 Framework Programme.

The EERQI project has officially begun on April 1,  2008 for a three year period. It is carried out by a Consortium of 19 European Institutions, including two international and two national learned societies in educational research, as well as departments of education at European universities, computer and documentation centers, and publishers of educational research (see <link http: www.eerqi.eu>www.eerqi.eu).  
 

The Round Table will be commenced by two presentations about experiences and prospects – EU-funding of Education Research:

  • Manuela Alfé, EU, Brussels: Education Research in the  7th Framework Programme (FP 7), Socio Economic Sciences and Humanities Theme.  
  • Louisa Anastopoulou, EU, Brussels FP 7 – The New Call 2010+ and New Funding Approaches 2011+.  

The EERQI-presentations will then show the development and progress which was made in the EERQI project so far, and give an overview about the next steps of development. 

Prof. Dr. Ingrid Gogolin, University of Hamburg, Coordinator of the EERQI-project and WERA Interim President, will inform about the scientific aims of the project. 

Dr. Ágnes Sandor, Xerox SAS, Grenoble will supply information about the semantic analysis and parsing technology for the project.

Jenny Oltersdorf and Thomas Severiens, Humboldt-University of Berlin and Oldenburg University, Technical Coordinator and Team of EERQI, will give insight in the testing procedures.
