The building became an icon of the city of Porto and represents a distinctive architectural heritage. This place promotes a relevant cultural interface between Portugal and the whole World. Mainly focused on musical events, the activities promoted by Casa da Música involve performances of different musical styles (from classical music to the forefront of urban trends), artistic training, testing and improvement of orchestras as well as other of residents or travelers groups. Moreover, has an educative dimension, promoting concerts, workshops and activities for families, children and school audiences.
