Copenhagen might be known to be an expensive city to visit and live in. However, there are plenty of ways to experience Copenhagen on a budget. For example, you can visit the National Museum and The National Gallery of Denmark for free and for only approximately 5 € you can hop on a sightseeing boat and experience some of the main attraction in Copenhagen, i.e. The Opera, the National Library and Nyhavn.
The good infrastructure in Copenhagen also allows you to experience the city, its main sights and the atmosphere by foot or by bike. When in the city center, the food market at Torvehallerne, near Nørrebro Station, is definitely worth a visit, especially if you are interested in tasting or buying delicacies.
The different districts in Copenhagen offers their own exciting shopping streets. In the district of Vesterbro, where the conference venue is located, you will find small, interesting boutiques with Danish design. We especially recommend you to visit the Vernedamsgade, Istedgade and the Meatpacking District – especially for bars and restaurants.
If you are interested in small and upcoming designers Jægersborggade is the place to go when visiting the district Nørrebro. In the small cobbled street, you will find Danish designed clothes, jewelry, ceramics, art and much more.

Tipping
In Copenhagen tipping is not a tradition as service is included in the bill at restaurants, hotels etc. Though not expected, tips are appreciated. If you are very satisfied with the service, you can tip around 10 %.

‘Mobilbilletter’ is a ticket app and came be used for all of Copenhagen’s public transport. You are able to single zone tickets or a multi-ride card. Be aware that you need continued internet access to use the app.
Useful features: If you are unsure about how many zones you need to select, you are able type in your destination and the app to tell you exactly what type of ticket you should buy.
Rejseplanen

The app is free.
The app ‘Rejseplanen’ is a travel planner app using GPS. The app lets you enter a starting point, destination and time, and shows you all options of how to get you to the destination from your nearest station. You are able to select your means of transportation, i.e. metro, car, bike, busses or train.
Useful features: You are able to type in your ‘home address’ while in Copenhagen and click the function “take me home”.
