Effective provision of schooling, social services for young people often demands collaboration between Education, Social Services and families. The requirement has been recognised by the Central Government and local authorities, FoU i Väst/GR. In Sweden 32 000 young people are not connected to the social welfare system or school programmes every year. The group is not constant but there is a cause for concern about two thirds of the group. The focus of the study is therefore to find out who is at risk for social exclusion and how the welfare system can collaborate with one other and every individual person.
Method
A case study is conducted. Empirical data is collected during a one year comprising documents, interviews with young people, and their parents and with personnel in the Educational system and the Social Services Department.
Expected Outcomes
The purpose of this paper is to present findings of an ongoing research project which aims is to analysing the state of inter-agency collaboration for young people between 16-24 years old who have drop out upper secondary school.
