This study reports on a pilot on-line distance learning course for secondary level teachers of Portuguese - "NAVEGAR NO PORTUGUæS". This training program was designed to create a network of geographically distant curriculum supervisors, who will accompany the adoption of the recently approved and adopted grammatical and literary nomenclatures. Interviews, participant observation and document analysis provided information about the programme and the ways participants perceived it. Once the main components of the programme were identified, a questionnaire was set up in order to evaluate the importance of each one of them in the good functioning and success of the course.
