This presentation draws attention to the personal aspect of the concept of "teacher's responsibility" which reveals the scope of teacher's professional responsibility as well as provides the answer for the question concerning its limits. This discussion is based on the analysis of three different aspects of teacher's moral responsibility (dependant on its evaluators): personal, social and historical. The conclusion of my analysis emerges from the assumption that the normative dimension determining the scope of duties and tasks ascribed to the teacher's social role would be incomplete if it were restricted only to legal regulations. I will also endeavour to demonstrate the importance of the requirements that a teacher sets for themselves, as it is them that play a decisive role in defining what a teacher wants to be responsible for and therefore for the determination of the limits of teacher's professional responsibility.
