My hypothesis is that theories on networking and knotworking can describe and explain issues and dilemmas in work organisation at schools working towards inclusion. During his ethnographic research on work practices in organisations Yrjo Engestrom has developed the model of knotworking. He finds that knotworking is an adequate model for work practices characterized by constant change of collaborative configurations. He takes inspiration from management theories on customer-intelligence which has co- configuration as its hallmark. He develops this model further to logical consistence and creates empirical support for the model through research in the Finnish municipal health care system. The paper will elaborate a critical analysis and try to adapt the model so it can be used for analysis of the organisation of work practices on three Danish schools. These schools are striving to develop an inclusive school.
