In the last three conferences, in Lisbon, in Hamburg and in Crete, we have presented some of the data we gathered for our research about a Portuguese educator, Teresa de Saldanha (Lisbon, 1837 - 1916). In Lisbon we presented the lady and her work in general terms; in Hamburg we talked about one of her schools; in Crete we tried to understand what European ideas did influence her work and how did they come to her. In Dublin we would like to overtake Teresa de Saldanha's lifetime and look to the actual schools that followed her educational project, as it is part of our personal investigation to understand how have her pedagogic ideas passed through the 20th Century and reached nowadays. Once again we will use some of the research material gathered, but this time to respond to one of the network's themes for this Conference: visualizing the body.We opened the photo albums of two of the Portuguese actual schools (Lisbon and Sintra) that formally follow Teresa de Saldanha's educational project and analysed them focusing our attention on some indicators, like the clothes, the hair, the body position, the emotional signs, the action, the buildings and their surrounds, the physical relation (space and people), the photographed situations.Besides the technical evolution in taking and printing photographs, like the introduction of coloured films and the improvement of photo paper, the result of this analysis is quite surprising, although it also reveals some of the constraints of this kind of research. Concerning to these two schools there is a particularly interesting detail: the official photographer remains the same for the last three decades. We have interviewed him and will join some of his statements to our paper, hoping that it will illuminate some of the questions we should ask ourselves when analysing such documents as information sources in our investigation area of History of Education.
