A high priority for Cedefop is to involve all new Member States into activities in the field of research cooperation and reporting. The new member countries, i.e. Cyprus, the Czech Republic, Estonia, Hungary, Latvia, Lithuania, Malta, Poland, Slovakia and Slovenia are now involved fully into the networks that helps to collect and share information about vocational education and training (VET) and human resource development (HRD) research. The focus of the study is to analyse the first results of the cooperation with the new member states acquired in the process of developing of the ERO Base (European Research Overview database - http://www.trainingvillage.gr/etv/Projects_Networks/ero/bas e.asp). The database is designed as an on-line searchable database accessible to European Training Village (ETV - http://www.trainingvillage.gr) members. This analysis evaluates progress in the development of the ERO Base and its content and tries to follow changes in the structure of the database in connection with the involvement of the new member states. Cedefop is also developing a scheme of regular reporting on the trends and results of VET and HRD research at national level - ERO National Research Reports (ENRR), in which ERO Base will play an important role in sourcing information and references of the ENRRs. This report will inform also about first results of this effort. The intent is underpinned by the structure of the ERO Base, which is divided into three interrelated sections. The sections cover records of Experts, Papers and Projects and all the sections are connected with Vet-Instit database - for details see (1).This background enable to share all important information on national structures of institutions, experts and results of their research work as well their results at the international level of their research cooperation. The proposed paper will inform about first results of this effort. The final part of this paper undertakes an evaluation of the ERO Base in accordance with the original plans, which led to its development as well as a look at further possibilities to make it a proper source of information for those interested in the area of VET and HRD research in Europe.References:(1) Petr Vicenik; Sabine Manning; Barry Nyhan: Development of the on-line ERO Base and our first experience from its service.
