Session Information
Contribution
Description: Mapping the production of research in the UK depends on information about funding, personnel, subjects of study, regional contexts, and private providers. Not enough is known about the relation between local production and devolved policy contexts, nor between the economy of UK production viewed within international space of performance and competition, and a new politics of publication. The paper will use information drawn from different national workforce and social science reports in the UK to map the second largest discipline in the social sciences, and one of the most complex.
