Description: The aim of the paper is to analyse the status and the development of the bulgarian pedagogy in the 1920s and 1930s in relation to the european educational knowledge during this period. We intend to examine: 1) How the ideas of the principal actors of the "New Education" movement are submited in the pedagogical review "Svobodno vaspitanie"("Free education",1922-1943),organ of the "New Education Fellowship"; 2) The relations between "New Education Fellowship" and his bulgarian section - the participation of the bulgarian delegates in the international congresses of the NEF from 1923 to 1936 and the influence of these relations over the development of the bulgarian pedagogical science.
Methodology: Content analysis of the pedagogical review "Svobodno vaspitanie"("Free education") 1922-1943 and of the archive sources.
Conclusions: The development of the bulgarian pedagogy in the first half of the 20th century is stimulated from the european educational knowledge and take shape as part of him. Thanks to the activity of the "New Educational Fellowship" and the relations with his "Bulgarian section" the ideas of the New education spreads in Bulgaria and have influence upon the development of the bulgarian pedagogical science.
