Description: The "Ambivalences of Enlightenment" cannot only be read with Horkheimer and Adorno as representants of the "Frankfurt School" resp. "Critical Theory". The important contribution of Michel Foucault is, to address the level of discourse-analysis and the notion of PowerKnowledge, bringing up discursive and non-discursive practises. The concepts of freedom, citizenship and transformation carry the implication of transformational as well as affirmational practices. Unruly practices of Social Movements and practices of integrating self-organization in a hegemonial way open up history and discourse as "space of potentials" and open process, which has to be analysed as history "writing its own pages of the book" day by day … Keywords: Foucault, governmentality, freedom, power, social movements, unruly practices, social policy.
