The study aims to find out the relationships betweenStudents achievement on TIMSS & the new Palestinian eighth grade science curriculum. For the first time the Palestinian developed their own curriculum for all subjects. The eighth grade students who participated in TIMSS test, studied the new curriculum. It is a an opportunity and also important to examine whether this new curriculum meets international standards since the TIMMS is an international test. It is expected that the results of this study will help the Palestinian Ministry of Education to improve the curriculum since it is not a final edition. So the research question addressed in this paper is whether there are any relationships between eighth grade Palestinian students' achievement in science on TIMSS and the new curriculum. The sample for this study consists of the students who participated in TIMMS: eighth grade students (males & females), from 150 school.Methodology:The study will follow a qualitative method having the following steps1. Analyses of the eighth grade science textbook (parts one & two) to find out whether it meets international criteria for scientific literacy, objectives of education, teaching and learning activities, and measurement & evaluation of students' achievement. 2. The students' achievement on TIMSS will be analysed against the findings of step 1. 3. An interview with a few science teachers to find out the effect of the new curriculum on their role as science teacher.References (amongst others):1. Sabri,Shakhshir Khawla & Abdul Hamid M.
